I was asked to design and build this staircase in a limited space, so we decided to turn the last few steps into the kitchen (which I also built).  Here are some cool pics to document the project.

Once the structural work was completed, the focus shifted to finish.  I thought white risers (the vertical parts of the steps) would go well with the white trim.  And for the Brazilian Cherry treads, the client chose a dark stain to match the kitchen cabinets.  I’m happy with the look and more importantly, they were too.  …Next came the railing, made of steel, which I will save for a post all to itself.  Very special work 🙂
